He received a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and a J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2008, where he was a Contributing Editor and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Law Reform. Mr. Smith joined Cravath in 2008 and was elected of counsel in 2022.
