Mr. Bode’s corporate clients have included AerCap, BAE Systems, Biogen, HCSC, INEOS, RELX, Time Warner, UTI Asset Management and Young’s Brewery. He has also represented leading financial institutions as underwriters, initial purchasers and agents and arrangers in connection with various offerings and loans.

Mr. Bode’s notable financing transactions include:

• High-yield debt acquisition financings in connection with:
  • The Issa brothers and TDR Capital’s acquisition of ASDA
  • EG Group’s acquisitions of Cumberland Farms, Certified Oil and Fastrac

  • PAI Partners’ acquisition of Pasubio
• Other high-yield debt offerings for INEOS and TUI Cruises and investment grade debt offerings for BAE Systems, Braas Monier and British American Tobacco

Mr. Bode’s notable M&A transactions include representing:

• The special committee of the board of directors of EchoStar in the $26 billion combination with DISH Network
• Biogen in its $7.3 billion acquisition of Reata Pharmaceuticals
• The Snyder family in the $6.05 billion sale of the NFL’s Washington Commanders to a partnership led by Josh Harris
• UScellular’s independent directors in the pending $4.4 billion sale of UScellular’s wireless operations and select spectrum assets to T‑Mobile
• HCSC in its pending $3.3 billion acquisition of Cigna’s Medicare businesses and CareAllies
• Cowen in its $1.9 billion acquisition by TD
• Convey Health Solutions in its $1.1 billion take-private acquisition by TPG Capital
• Airspan in the sale of Mimosa to Radisys
• RELX Group in its acquisition of Interfolio

Mr. Bode was born in Giessen, Germany. He received a B.A. from the University of St. Gallen in 2006 and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2017.

Mr. Bode joined Cravath in 2017 and was elected European counsel in 2024.
