Cravath’s New York Office Moves to Two Manhattan West
Joji Ozawa focuses his practice on leveraged finance and other capital markets transactions, with a particular emphasis on high‑yield debt offerings and complex, cross‑border financings.
Mr. Ozawa represents corporate clients, investment banks, debtholders and other parties in connection with traditional capital markets offerings and banking transactions, as well as restructuring matters, liability management transactions and acquisition and project finance.
Prior to joining Cravath, Mr. Ozawa’s notable bond and banking transactions include representing Allwyn in connection with numerous financings, Zegona Communications in connection with the financing of its acquisition of Vodafone Spain and affiliates of ION Group and Ellaktor in connection with offerings of senior notes and senior secured notes.
Mr. Ozawa’s notable project finance experience prior to joining the Firm includes advising the initial purchasers in connection with the offering of a first‑of‑a‑kind project sukuk and the GMTN programme of GreenSaif Pipelines (an issuer owned by a BlackRock‑led consortium of investors in Aramco Gas Pipelines Company), the initial purchasers in connection with the offering of senior secured notes by EIG Pearl (an issuer owned by an EIG‑led consortium of investors in Aramco Oil Pipelines Company) and Delhi International Airport in its offerings of senior secured notes.
Having spent a number of years practicing in Singapore and Tokyo, Mr. Ozawa’s notable representations in Asia prior to joining Cravath include advising the initial purchasers in connection with Indika Energy’s financing for the acquisition of an additional stake in Kideco—the first bridge‑to‑bond deal in Southeast Asia—and business integrations involving the Form F‑4 filings for the predecessors of ENEOS (JXTG Holdings and Nippon Oil).
