Cravath’s New York Office Moves to Two Manhattan West
John E. Beerbower retired from Cravath’s Litigation Department in 2011. Mr. Beerbower had extensive litigation and arbitration experience across a wide‑range of industries and areas of the law, including substantial involvement in the areas of M&A and antitrust. He handled contract, intellectual property, bankruptcy, tax, securities, fraud and fiduciary duty cases and acted as lead counsel in several large domestic and international arbitrations.
Mr. Beerbower was born in Columbus, Ohio. He received a B.A. summa cum laude from Amherst College in 1970, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1973. After spending a year as a research student under the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge, he joined Cravath in 1974 and became a partner in 1980.
