Cravath’s New York Office Moves to Two Manhattan West
David Greenwald retired from Cravath’s Litigation Department in 2020. As a partner, Mr. Greenwald focused his practice on the representation of drug, biotechnology and chemical companies in patent litigation, and the representation of European financial institutions in criminal and regulatory investigations. He also took an active interest in lawyer training and development, overseeing for eight years the Litigation Department’s continuing legal education offerings, and presenting courses and seminars within the Firm throughout his tenure as a partner.
From 1997-2000, Mr. Greenwald served as a prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Before joining Cravath in 1994, Mr. Greenwald served as a clerk to Hon. Richard A. Posner, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. Greenwald was born in New York City. He graduated from Hunter College High School (1986); Harvard College (B.A. 1990 (biochemical sciences), summa cum laude); and the University of Chicago Law School (J.D. 1993, high honors).
