Sharon Goswami Moderates Federal Circuit Bar Association’s “PTAB Ten Years After” Webcast

On December 1, 2022, Cravath partner Sharonmoyee Goswami participated in a webcast entitled “PTAB Ten Years After: Where Are We Now and Where are We Going?” which was hosted by The Federal Circuit Bar Association’s PTAB and TTAB Committee, of which Sharon is vice chair. Sharon moderated the session, which examined the increasing usage of Inter Partes Reviews and Post‑Grant Reviews, recent actions of the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the prospect for post‑grant proceedings in the future.

    Alarm.com Wins Federal Circuit Reversal in Ongoing APA Challenge

    On February 24, 2022, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit issued a precedential decision in favor of Cravath client Alarm.com Incorporated (“Alarm.com”), finding that a lawsuit filed by Alarm.com challenging actions of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) was properly brought in federal district court, reversing the district court’s dismissal.
