Cravath’s New York Office Moves to Two Manhattan West
On March 19, 2019, Cravath and Disability Rights Advocates (“DRA”) announced that the Honorable Judge George B. Daniels of the Southern District of New York issued preliminary approval of a historic settlement that establishes a comprehensive remedial plan for drastically improving sidewalk accessibility for all members of New York City’s disability community. The settlement stems from and resolves two separate class action lawsuits filed in 1994 and 2014. Cravath, alongside DRA, represents eight disability rights groups in the New York area that have signed onto the agreement mandating a citywide survey to assess which sidewalk corners require installations and upgrades and a comprehensive schedule for completing the necessary work. An outside monitor will oversee the agreement.
The Cravath team that worked alongside DRA was led by partner Darin P. McAtee and included associate Sophia M. Suarez.
The case is EPVA v. City of New York.
