John White and Michael Arnold Speak at Northwestern’s 2023 Securities Regulation Institute

Cravath partners John W. White and Michael L. Arnold participated in Northwestern School of Law’s 50th Annual Securities Regulation Institute, which was held from January 30 – February 1, 2023 in Coronado, California. John spoke on a panel entitled “Accounting and Auditing: What Lawyers Should Focus on in 2023,” which discussed recent financial reporting developments at the SEC relating to non‑GAAP measures, critical accounting estimates and waivers, as well as priorities at the FASB. Michael spoke on a panel entitled “New SEC Corp Fin Rules,” which reviewed risk oversight and governance considerations related to cybersecurity in light of disclosure rules proposed by the SEC; the newly adopted rules about Rule 10b5‑1 plans and best practices on insider trading policies; and the SEC’s proposed disclosure rules related to share repurchases.
