Cravath’s New York Office Moves to Two Manhattan West
December 19, 2023
On December 15, 2023, The Am Law Litigation Daily featured a Cravath team, led by partners Gary A. Bornstein, Lauren A. Moskowitz and Yonatan Even, as “Litigators of the Week” for its representation of client Epic Games in an antitrust trial win against Google in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Following a multi‑week trial, on December 11, 2023, a jury unanimously ruled in Epic Games’ favor on all counts, determining that Google has engaged in anticompetitive behavior in the distribution of mobile apps and in the handling of in‑app payments.
In the Q&A feature, Gary spoke about Epic Games’ history of advocacy for open platforms, the collaboration within Cravath’s trial team and considerations related to conducting a jury trial. “Cravath has a long track record of success in high‑stakes antitrust litigation,” he noted, “and we worked quickly alongside the Epic team in developing the legal side of their broader strategy to address the problems they saw affecting Epic and other developers of mobile apps, the users of those apps, and potential competing app stores and payment providers.”
Gary mentioned the contributions of numerous other Cravath lawyers including partners Timothy G. Cameron, Justin C. Clarke, Michael J. Zaken and senior attorney Brent Byars, and praised Lauren and Yonatan’s examinations during the trial specifically as examples of the “tremendous talent” at Cravath.
